This Was The Last Day Of 10th Grade

…And it was an extremely simple one, at that. Although, it didn’t begin all that simple. This morning I woke up around six-thirty, did all my morning preparations and left around seven-forty. I was leaving fairly early so I wouldn’t be late for my algebra 2 final, and so I could do some last minute “cramming”.

While driving on Balfour, I approached Minnesota, and that’s where a cop car turned right behind me and stopped the following traffic. I was wondering what was going on, since the traffic in front of me was completely stopped. It turns out there was a very bad accident around the Brentwood water park area. Apparently it involved a motorcycle and a lot of smoke, I’m lead to believe. I’ll probably hear more about it later.

This accident caused major delays in getting to school. I had to turn around, take Minnesota up through Central and finally get to school that way. Normally it takes me ten to fifteen minutes depending on traffic; today it took twenty-five. If I had left at my normal time, I would’ve been late. It’s definitely a good thing I left early.

The first half of the algebra 2 final was simple. It’s the last half that was pretty killer. Out of sixty questions, I was only really skeptical on about twelve, so I felt pretty confident I got a sufficient grade. Once Mr. Groseclose scanned the tests, I found out that I got an 81.5%-not bad at all for being totally skeptical on two of the five chapters that were on the final.

Remember, this is me bringing my insanely bad algebra 2 grade up. I already raised it almost 25% and the final ensures my spot at an O.K. grade for the class, but if I hadn’t screwed around in April, I would have been able to manage an ‘A’. Oh well, no use in dwelling on the past; I can only hope that my maturity and better work ethic will lead to great things next year.

Since I didn’t have a fourth period, I chilled with Fiona over at Willy’s for about an hour, taking pictures and looking at the band ones. We headed back over to school once it was over and lots of people just mingled for about an hour. Leah, Nicole, and I met with Ms. Hurst to talk about “public relations and historian” jobs for next year, just to be clear of everything. And, once Leah and I both finished up our individual tasks, we started work on the band scrapbook around 1:30 PM.

…And boy did that scrapbook take forever! We made the finishing touches to it around six o’clock. It’s highly thorough: 31 pages and includes hundreds of pictures, categorized but also randomized. I drove home, switched cars to the Saturn, and went to Bristow’s graduation. That was pretty cool because I saw Libbie again as well as lots of other friends.

At seven-thirty I drove over to “Uno’s Chicago Grill” and met about twenty other people from the band for dinner. I had a great time-and I got way filled up with my 10 oz. Bacon cheeseburger and fries. After dinner, we all saw the 9:20 PM showing of “Over The Hedge”. Needless to say I fell asleep through half of it, I still got the gist of the storyline. Lastly, Prent, Becky, and me watched the latter of “X-Men 3”-this was my third time seeing it, heh. Tomorrow holds the senior’s graduation as well as more band nerd hangout time. Summer’s upon us, and it’s wicked cool.
