Oh dear, my geekhood is showing!

First of all:

Right. So a while ago, someone posted in torch_wood and explained how you can make your computer sound like the TARDIS when you turn it on or off. I can't find that post now, but I'll do my best to explain it.

There are two ways to do it. One using the control panel, and one bypassing it. I did the latter. Either way, you should download these two files, which are short version of the TARDIS sound: one and two. Their names will come in handy later on.

Now, bypassing the control panel:

1. Access the folder Your Computer > HDD (C:) > Windows > Media
2. Find the files "Windows Startup" and "Windows Shutdown" and rename them, e.g. add the number 2
3. Save the above files to the Media folder.

That should be it! Easy, huh?

Now, using the control panel. This is going to be particularly clumsy as I insist on writing in English and my computer only speaks Danish. *sighs*

1. Save the above files under different names (e.g. add the number 2) to the folder: HDD (C:) > Windows > Media
2. Access your Control Panel > Sounds, speech and sound units > Sounds and sound units
3. Click the tab "Sounds" and it should be clear sailing.

Still pretty easy, right? God, some days I love computers.

Spent the weekend with the boyfriend, hence the silence.

My sister found an old cell phone I could use and my mum sent it to me in the mail. I'm now using what appears to be a Nokia 3210. It's from before they could vibrate! Still works fine, though, even if it is a bit primitive.

I'm determined to take some time out of my schedule this week and finish the fic. However, I think I'm going to Herning already on Thursday, as the formal ball on my old school is Friday and a bunch of last year's students are going to come. There's only really a handful of people that I want to see, but I hope some of my old teachers will be there. I actually miss some of them. Plus, I want English Teacher to know how I'm doing. *grins*

I've forgotten what else I wanted to say. Oh well, it probably wasn't that important anyway.

ETA: LJ, why are you being a twat? Logging me out in the middle of updating and then messing up my post = not cool.

ETA 2: My memory is not what it used to be. I bring you a ninth Doctor zombie fic, which is an amusing and quite disturbing little thing, PG-rated and not shippy. Sorry to have kept you waiting, Sofie! :-)
