How is it already Christmas? Where did December go? awomanthatsblue got me thinking about operas yesterday, so I decided to see what Vienna has in store for me this year. Obviously there are WAY MORE than I could ever see, what with the hours of standing in line for the 3 Euro tickets...plus the 3ish hours of opera itself...and a train back to Hollabrunn. I *finally* got to see Carmen live this weekend - at the Staatsoper, no less! In terms of Vienna's opera houses, it's the best - the biggest, the richest, and the most traditional. Yet they always sell standing tickets for €3 or 4 for every single performance, so it doesn't have to be prohibitively expensive.
