I went home to Knoxville this weekend...
...to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary and my niece's 13th birthday. It was very, very nice. It's only when I go home that I realize how much I miss my family. I need to find more time to go back to Knoxville this summer. My folks are getting old, and my niece and nephew are growing up, and I'm 150 miles away and missing out on so much.
Mariann has taken after her Aunt Min. She has turned into an avid reader of fantasy fiction, and now she has discovered the coolness of wearing hats. My mother bought her a cute little white trilby with black pinstripes for her birthday, and she wore it all weekend, even planning her Sunday ensemble around the hat.
I have three weeks from hell ahead of me at work, and I have no one to blame, but myself. I plan on crashing the last two weeks of June in a spectacular fashion.
