Apartment Search/Moving UPDATE.
My application for the apartment just west of downtown (near the Buddhist center) has officially been approved.
Tomorrow, I pick up my Section 8 voucher. Then, later in the day, I meet with my new landlord to pay the first installation of my security deposit (she's letting me break it into two payments, thank God/dess). And she will fill out the form attached to the Section 8 voucher, which I will then return to the Section 8 office, so they can schedule a move-in inspection, to verify that the new apartment is up to code. Assuming all of that goes well (and it should), I will be moving around October 31 (nice timing, ha).
Because of the expenses of moving (not just the deposit, but also needing to rent a moving van), I am on a seriously limited income this month. What fun!
I am going to start packing later this week, so I won't be too overwhelmed at the end of the month. I have a lot of stuff (collectibles, etc.), so it will take some time to get everything securely boxed up.
I am very excited, but also very nervous...
