Sherlock
Sherlock (created by the same guy who is currently writing on Doctor Who) is a modern re-telling of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Incredibly smart man, runs around London with his trusty side-kick and BAMFY Doctor friend John Watson, solving crimes and being sexy.
This fandom has literally eaten my life. Lunch table discussions revolve around the gorgeousness of Benedict Cumberbatch. My friend and I are writing fanfiction constantly. Aside from it being incredibly well written and catchy as hell, I watch in large part because I ship Sherlock and John. (Big surprise, I know.) I don't even know why. The chemistry that the actors have together, maybe? The writers of the show keep throwing the fact that John might be gay into EVERYTHING. or at least they are making fun of it. I, personally, hope that John turns out to legitimately love Sherlock, and they shag against every available surface, but I guess I could see if they were just putting it in there as a joke. The theme of John/Sherlock interweaves throughout several of the reincarnations of Sherlock Holmes. (Specifically: GayGame of Shadows)
Right now, both the main actors are busy filming The Hobbit, so we won't get any new Sherlock until NEXT YEAR. (uggh.) But If you haven't watched it, do. It's one of the best things to come to television ever.
