To be fair, I'm not sure RTD ever mentioned the Brig either - he's pretty much not been a real fixture in the 2005 version so a lot of viewers wouldn't even know who he is. Too much time spent on him would have confused the hell out of them. But yeah, I'm not fond of how each time the Doctor has a near-death experience he implies that the most important people ever are the ones that are the most recent. It's a Doylian necessity that fucks things up on the Watsonian level.

Anyway I got most of the dialogue for you. I didn't even try to get Madam thing's name - it's not a word I know so that makes it much harder for me to distinguish. It's probably easily found through Google, anyway.

Heard there was a freak meteor shower two miles away. So I got us a bottle.

Thank you, dear.

So. Where are we?

I just climbed out of the Byzantium. You were there. So young. Didn't have a clue who I was. You're funny like that. Where are you?

The Doctor's dead.

How are you doing?

How do you think?

Well I don't know unless you tell me.

I killed someone. Madam --. In cold blood.

In an aborted timeline in a world that never was.

But I can remember it, so it happened, so I did it. What does that make me, now? I need to talk to the Doctor but I can't now, can I?

If you could talk to him, would it make a difference?

He's dead now, so. So I can't.

Oh, Mother. Of course he isn't.

Not for you, I suppose. You're seeing the younger versions of him. Running around, having adventures.

Yeah. I am. But that's not what I mean.

Then what do you mean?

Okay. I'm going to tell you what I probably shouldn't. The Doctor's last secret. Don't you want to know what he whispered in my ear?

He whispered his name.

Not his name, no.

Yeah it was, he said it was.

Rule one.

The Doctor lies.

So do I. All the time, have to. Spoilers. Pretending I don't know you're my mother, pretending I don't recognize the space suit in Florida…

What did he whisper in your ear?

Oh… That man. He's always one step ahead of everyone, always a plan.

River. What did he tell you? River.

(dorky white girl dance and squealing)

Hey! [Amy tells Rory something hard to make out] Are you sure, River, are you really, properly sure?

Of course I'm sure, I'm his wife.

And I'm his-- mother-in-law.

Father dear, I think Mummy might need another drink.

Yes. Yes.

My sister and I missed out on a cookie though - we were hedging on the Flesh, not the Tessellect(sp).

I am very impressed at the Tessellect's excellent imitation of the beginning of Time Lord regeneration, incidentally. :P

Kovarian.

I was also betting on the Flesh.

Oh, the Brig is mentioned. Still runs UNIT up through Series 4 (please note "The Poison Sky" quite closely and what the Doctor discusses with the acting director of UNIT for proof of this). He's always "in Peru" when you need him, though. He's only actually APPEARED on SJA.

Oh yes, you're right, he is. It's sort of sad that there's actually so little connecting the old and new serieses - some of the same villains, and the Doctor and the TARDIS of course, and then you get Sarah Jane, but... I was super young when it was on here and it's hard to get old episodes without paying $40 each for the DVDs so there's a shit ton that's just a vague, barely there memory. It would be nice if you were able to go back and watch things and see more that was familiar.

lol I was like "there's a G or K, a V, and an N..."

I suppose I'm spoiled, I get to watch them constantly on Netflix.

Really, Rusty had a rum go with connecting the old universe to the new with SJA...see my icon (Jo and SJS!)

watchseries.eu has all of the reboot, and Torchwood, and SJA too.
