Pretty much.

I would have enjoyed seeing more of the train station office, the interplay between Amy and Captain Williams, and so on and so forth.

It should have been a two-parter. This felt rushed and very contrived. But at least we got our old Amy back.

And for anyone who's got the stomach, I'm going to need that Amy/River scene transcribed. Because they're kicking Rory out and having sexytimes, timey-wimey bedamned.

I am fucking pissed about that "tribute" to the Brigadier.

He is the most important man in the Doctor's entire goddamn universe.

And he was reduced to twenty seconds of a phone call.

I notice no Sarah Jane tribute, either. Which must be due to the fact that Series 5 of SJA is not yet out and therefore we have no idea how Rusty is ending it. And not because Moffat is a goddamn prick and it took nearly a fucking year for him to admit the Brig existed, let alone Sarah Jane (and how about Jo then?). Or so I keep telling myself.

Also, christ but the happy white-girl-dance between Amy and River was painful. Fuuuucking painful. SO WHITE.

To be fair, I'm not sure RTD ever mentioned the Brig either - he's pretty much not been a real fixture in the 2005 version so a lot of viewers wouldn't even know who he is. Too much time spent on him would have confused the hell out of them. But yeah, I'm not fond of how each time the Doctor has a near-death experience he implies that the most important people ever are the ones that are the most recent. It's a Doylian necessity that fucks things up on the Watsonian level ( ... )
