I haven't seen the promo, but the description of the episode on Wiki makes me think it's trying to back away from what appeared to be more canon confirmation for the schmoop crowd. However you don't use a title like that (even it refers to PoTW) with raising a whole lot of hope in the fanbase as well.

Funny thing is I didn't think 'Wilson' was that schmoopy, I mean like... Wilson gave a bit of his liver to a patient who turned out to be a jackass, which is pretty majorly fucked up, plus we saw how incredibly disruptive House is to the rest of the staff, and then Wilson gazumped Cuddy because Cuddy turned out not to be single after House hallucinated about her and then tried to get together with her, which is just weird behaviour if you ask me. I liked it as an episode, but I came away thinking "Jesus these people are even more fucked up than I previously thought", not "aw how cute ♥ ♥ &hearts". Have you seen the glabal promo by the way?

I actually thought the whole ep was fine until the ending, at which point it felt like a total sell-out to the H/W schmoop contingent. Before that it was my House/Wilson who do love each
other, are fucking, have fucked or will fuck and will always end up hurting each other in the end. With the move-in and the idea that Wilson screwed Cuddy out of the apartment "because she hurt my friend" that they were selling out.

I also thought that "If you die, I'll be alone." was right out of a fanfic.

Still haven't seen the promo.

AWWWWWW. WAINRING ICON. Memories. :)

Well I actually have a plot-bunny about the whole "she hurt my friend" line, I am playing with the idea now. Because it makes zero sense as a motivator and is clearly just an excuse for more "Odd Couple" (code for "gay as fuck") hijinks on the part of the writers. So I am thinking of writing a thing wherein Wilson was lying when he said that and actually has other motives.

"If you die, I'm alone": a) a terrible line; b) not a good reason to not want someone to die; c) obvious anyway.

So yeah, I agree, it was a flawed episode, but I don't necessarily think it was flawed because it was fluffy, I think that fandom is interpreting certain things as fluffy which I personally think are either badly written or just plain odd. HOWEVER, I thought it had some good moments, and it entertained me, which is something at least.

I loved seeing RSL get a lot of screen time and I always enjoy seeing Josh Molinma. It was fun seeing House's team from the outside, and they did have some fun bits.

I'd totally love to see any fic you come up with and if you're looking for a beta, I'd be more than happy to put on the cape.
