So, this evening, I had a go a finding out why the outside light by my front door wasn't working. After managing to wrestle the shade off, I found a good inch of water inside. Which explains why the bulb wasn't for lighting.
I cleaned all that nastiness up, and drilled a hole in the shade to prevent the flooding again. Then swapped in a new LED bulb. Nothing happened. None of breakers tripped, which was a bonus. But no light.
I need to find out what the score is with remedying it. I think I'll collar the director for the neighbourhood who was biting my ear the other day.
