I just spent a wonderful evening seeing (almost) all the wonderful peoples I missed while I was intern-ing it up in New York. Among them were the splendid
nyowpotopop (who loaned me a dress, showed me her dog, and gave me cookies), the fantastic Ahlia (who made an excellent dance partner at the SCA Desert Revel) and the glorious
machi_neko (whose current moss green hair will soon give way to another shade).
The SCA Desert Revel was excellent. I made cookies with
nyowpotopop before hand and helped swathe them in Saran wrap. The other deserts weren't nearly as good. (Ahem.)
We went to a pub/restaurant, afterward, and I didn't get anything besides root beer. When the waitress gave me the check, I was shocked. 2.47 for a whole glass? Not 5.00? What? Then I remembered that I was far away from New York and this made me happy. I think I'll compile a list of things that I don't miss about that wonderfully busy city.
After the pub, I went home with
nyowpotopop to change out of the dress I had borrowed. I patted her dog and she hugged me and gave me cookies. I definitely left with a warm, fuzzy feeling.
You know what also makes me feel warm on this decidedly not warm night? Watching the highly intense
Battlestar Galactica: Face of the Enemy webisodes. There are three up so far.
Two minutes into the first one, Felix Gaeta
shares a friendlier-than-just-friends kiss with a hot, young [male] lieutenant, Hoshi.
I'm so delighted, I could scream, but I won't because it's kind of really early in the morning and the house is asleep.
