Spent a very good day, among other things (i.e. making a back-to-school hair-cut appointment, driving around, calling my doctor, sleeping), playing D&D with some old high school buddies and visiting with
machi_neko and
demonqueen666.
The D&D game was fun and absolutely geektastic. It involved four hours of pretending, with four guys, to be a sun elf metaphysician that I named Septimus Early Dawn. (If it's fantasy, why not go all the way?) Other people in the party were, among other things, a pirate, a wolf-creature, and a Hell monk named Devil. I merrily killed ogres with a fire wall, sliced up a zombie rat creature with throwing stars in order to get access to the armory, saved the wolf-creature's ass by putting a plasma wall between him and the evil witch, and gained a magical ring along with a stone that can summon a kraken.
At
demonqueen666's house, I ended up staying longer than I intended. We talked about loads of wonderful stuff, covering everything from books to personal stuff. Jane Austen was spoken of, as was sci-fi, comics, the deaths and endings in Harry Potter, and movies. Pan's Labyrinth was safely returned to its owner, and now that I'm on my computer, I remember I completely forgot about checking out the CD-ROM freatures on the very same DVD. (FUCK.)
machi_neko and I had a talk, and she recommended me an anime. (Do I dare ask what Nerima Daiken Brothers is?) Then I was told, as a loyal Battlestar Galactica fan, to watch
this Lego rap video starring the characters.
Like I said, it was a good day.
