Not too long ago a couple of my old Naha Nikkei students hit me up on Facebook letting me know there'd be an Eibei party...and that was about it. All I really had to go on was a date. No time, no place, nothing. By the time the day of the party came around (Sunday) and all the details came into view, I realized I couldn't actually afford to go. No problem, they told me. Hmmmm...I know I'm like their favorite teacher of all time and stuff, but they aren't usually this adamant about me going to their parties. Curiouser and curiouser...
Then the cakes came out.
And it all started to make sense.
Suprisssseeeeeeeeeee! Ok, so my birthday may have been about a month ago, and b>Kotomi, Ryo, and Narumi's may have happened earlier in the September...but so what? We're all born just a few weeks apart, so why not have a joint surprise b-day party? Virgo Coalition, we in this.
Narumi may be the only one out of all my Naha Nikkei kids that is old enough to have seen Madonna's the first time around.
Meanwhile Ryo reminds us why his penis is classified as a dangerous weapon in most prefectures.
I still miss the days when Kotomi had ridiculously naturally curly hair.
Takumi can milk anything with nipples. Even Eiichiro.
Yuko might wanna switch careers from office worker lady to party planning diva.
Mizuki's still doing her thang, going to school and modeling part time. It won't be long before you see her face plastered all over Naha.
The always adorable Ayaka, still forever busy planning weddings.
Me and Hiroto kicking it down at the other end of the table with the ladies. Hiroto's haircut and glasses have pretty much become his trademark.
I was really happy to see these two. I hadn't seen Kento since graduation, and I hadn't seen Yuka since late last year. Glad those two crazy kids are still together going strong. Wonder when I'll get my wedding invitation.
I know I say this every time, but I'm really really fortunate to have met some awesome people during my time here. And these guys are probably the most awesomest of the awesome.
And we're out.
