I think we can safely say that the next episode of Doctor Who has the BEST TITLE EVAH!

Okay, that was an episode and a half. Even if you forgive the canon-busting indulgence.

Michael Sheen was chilling.

What a treat.

Well, aside from Lily Cole looking wickedly alien and one poetic image of a band of buccaneers sailing a starship across the galaxy, I thought that was a pile of poo.

It is very difficult to feck up a show with pirates in, but that just about managed it.

The Doctor and Richard Nixon team up to save the world!

Ridiculous, but a great episode, full of gothic atmos. Boy, Moffat does like to set up the mysteries, doesn't he? A pile of loose ends flapping about, waiting to be tied up.

Why do I suspect we haven't seen the last of Canton?

An episode full of creepy atmos and some good ideas. Mark Sheppard damn near stole the episode from under everyone's noses and River Song gave a marvelous soliloquy about her journey back in time ( Read more... )
