A/N - The following includes any Booth/Zack drabbles from
the first 20 drabbles.
14. Life (Bones; Booth/Zack; PG)
Booth vaguely registers that Zack is busy lecturing about the specific qualities about the bodily remains he recently uncovered. The kid is obsessed with bones. Cleaning them. Finding cause of death. Seeking out all the little differences. Booth listens and wonders if he could ever have an obsession with life. Why didn’t Zack ever find cause of life?
Because he has no reason to. Booth stares, then cuts him off mid-sentence and says, “Good work. Get back to me on that.” He pats him briefly on the shoulder and leaves. Zack stares, shocked to the bone, his skin tingling slightly.
17. Elf (Bones; Booth/Zack; G)
October 31st. Zack and Booth look at each other in horror.
“You dressed up as Santa?” Zack observes Booth’s fake beard.
“You’re an elf?”
“You two match, that’s so cute!” Angela snorts with laughter.
“We don’t match,” Booth snaps in defense, while Zack mutters, “Complement, not match.”
Not a soul in the Jeffersonian can bear let it go. For the rest of the day, everyone refers to Zack as Booth’s elf. Or Seeley’s assistant. Or Santa’s little helper. It drives the young scientist half-mad, especially when he spots Angela sketching Santa-Booth crushing Elf-Zack into a dominating bear hug of “love”.
