Danny was still left out of the loop. He was still a loser. But this was actually for the best; it could have ended much worse.
He caught Dash’s eye on the other side of the cafeteria. In an instant, memories flowed back into focus-Danny on his knees. Dash trying to keep quiet. Dash’s vice grip on Danny’s hair as he sucked all the sanity out of him-Dash ignored him. He didn’t pick on Danny anymore. No one wanted to know that the school’s star player had been moaning in front of Fenturd a mere two days ago.
