vid recs!

So chaila43 has been working on her very first vid for some time now, and she posted it today. And omg, y'all! BSG, D'Anna, Laura, and Caprica dealing with journeys of faith and the search for home, spoilers through "Revelations." The song ("Cathedrals," by Jump Little Children, a song I love anyway) is utterly perfect, and I'd have never believed this was a first vid had I not been getting peeks at the process from chaila43's first "so I think I want to make a vid..." until now.

ETA: Hee! So as soon as I posted this, I went back to my flist to find that dionusia had recced not only this one but also daybreak777's first vid (I think Chaila and Daybreak did Vidding 101 together, actually), and I had missed that one in some post-vacation craziness or something. So I went to watch that vid, as well, and then I had to come back to add it to my recs.

Because this vid makes me finally get Kara/Lee!!! I've never been opposed, necessarily, to their romance, maybe, at some point in the future or something, but it's never much pinged for me on the show. And this vid shows the reasons it hasn't really worked for me and all at the same time makes me want to root for them. Lee and Kara! Who'd a thunk it!

(And I should perhaps also add that I don't actually know a damned thing about vidding. I just know how to recognize the ones that make me point and go, "yes! that!")

Also, I'm having such trouble getting my brain focused for IBARW!!! I wanted to go specifically fannish this year and have been tossing around a "Why Dee is Awesome" post in my head. But I also have a Dee fic that's been swimming around in my brain for ages and is morphing into something more complicated than I initially thought, and I feel like trying to do Dee meta at the same time I'm thinking about the fic won't work. (See also the Adama/Roslin post I put off for three or four months because I couldn't think about it while I was writing "Eschatos.")

So. Do I make the Dee post whenever I make it (or write the fic whenever I write it) and figure that every week is Blog Against Racism Week? (Okay, that's a yes, on both fronts: I do intend to write the fic, at least, and perhaps also the meta, and every week is Blog Against Racism Week.) In the meantime, though, do I choose another topic for an IBARW post? Anyone have any suggestions? This is an event I believe in very strongly, but my head's not in it this year, for some reason.
