Foreigners hardly understand how to pronounce soft consonants.
Almost always it sounds like "привьет".
Or "привЭт" :))

But Chinese language is much harder in this part... :)

Harder? Yes, Russian is a very aggressive language when compared to English. I used to think my Russian friends were fighting with each other when they spoke Russian. :) I can't roll "R's." We practiced this in my Russian class, but it's impossible. Same rolling of the "r" is necessary in Spanish language.

С удовольствием и совершенно безвозмездно, то есть даром сделаю твой русский лучше. Ничего, что обращаюсь на "ты"? Речь, письменный текст - whatever.

Касательно России в целом - не верь новостям. Максимум, что ждет иностранца - это вымогательство со стороны полиции и нудная песня о просроченной "регистрации". Ах, да - еще полное непонимание английского.
