Nose to the grindstone

Mar 10, 2010 07:51

I put in a full day at the office yesterday and will be doing the same today. It is always this way when the end of a project draws nigh.

During these times my Dearest cooks most of the dinners and is my all around hero.

Before going to bed last night we watched The Hawking Paradox. During portions of the program I was distracted by the Sita and Kali who were having a ruff and tumble on the wingback chair. They would lay stretched out facing each other, legs encircling the others neck, giving and receiving grooming Then all of the sudden they would go for each other throats and bite, fend each other off with their paws/claws, bat at each other and roll around. What’s up with this? A seemingly loving little moment erupts into a chaotic tussle. And when it ended and they lay there together grooming again.

Kali has now decided that sitting on the couch next to me is a “good thing”. Getting scratched by two people is even better while lying there. Then it dawns on her that TWO humans are scratching her - OMG! - and she bolts. Silly cat! She has also taken to hiding behind my legs as I sit on the couch when frightened. I guess I have become a mom kitty.

Weather wise it is starting to warm up. We have had consistent 50 odd degrees each day this week. Cool. Maybe I might see daffs popping up soon.

I have been listening via iTunes to the Knit Picks podcast, hosted by Kelley Petkun. Slowly but surely I am getting through all 130+ episodes. Try it, you might like it.

The furball parade has started so I am off to feed them and start my day.
