So I'm helping run a little Vocal Jazz workshop/info session on Thursdays for some of my choral ed peeps who feel out of their element when it comes to jazz. I thought a lot about how I learned to sing jazz, and it occurred to me there was very little formal instruction, especially when I was just starting out. Listening to the CD of the Berthoud HS school show choir, and they're quite good at what they do. Blend and intonation (when they sing accompanied) is perfect. A cappella they have more trouble (like they do Voice Dance and you can tell that it is not a style they are used to singing). But they're really fun to listen to.
