Went on a shoot last Thursday at the Cabaret Juste pour Rire as an assistant to Nancy Desrosier where I got to play with her 200mm f2.8. Talk about glass! The thing is horribly heavy which is exactly how I like it. I was already itching to get myself a new wide angle but should I do more concert shoots (one day?) The photography gig went very well considering I had not set foot in a club for almost two years and the environment was much more challenging than what I remember experiencing in other venues (lighting was very weak, even for a club). I got a call for a job interview which will require a lot of running around for both today and tomorrow. Doing two evenings of studio shooting will be overly difficult to arrange and I really want to be at my best for this one.

Had a wonderful evening for Véro's 30th anniversary. Good company, good food and most of all good friends. I even have a couple of very cool pictures to claim but I will have to wait until Lou decides to share the goods since it was taken on his camera ( Read more... )

I finally decide to let go of this novel I'm reading and dive in my photography books, only to find out that my prized possession, this Lightroom book I bought in tandem with Diluvienne, is nowhere to be found. I still can't believe that 9 foot roll managed to fit in my compact car! It helped that it was not a super fat roll of paper like the one's I've seen usually attached to a ceiling. While those cost a few hundred bucks (with obligatory frame) and are about one to two feet large, this one is less than a hundred bucks and the diameter is around half ( Read more... )

My weekend consisted of face slaps, congratulations, more face slapping and finally comfort of mind - all for the exact same thing. Then again, it's only Sunday morning. I figure a couple of more slaps are on the way maybe :)
