As we suppose most people know who have been following the weather news, our area of the Midwest has been drenched by a record amount of rain. While we haven't regressed back into winter here, we haven't exactly leapt sprightly into spring either. There are actually daffodils blooming in the yard of the neighbor who lives at the end of our block! Little blue flowers which spread all over the currently bare ground are blooming as well. Neither one of us knows what these blue flowers are called, but they're lovely ( Read more... )

Well, we have finally moved out of winter and into what passes for spring here in Wisconsin. We've had several days of warm (50-60 degrees during the height of the day--significantly colder at night--you understand), but that's been combined with winds and pouring rain. Well, as is not all that unusual when Easter comes in March (or early April), we have another white Easter this year--having had nearly 7 inches of heavy snow on Good Friday. Well, winter has hit our part of the country with a vengeance. Several inches of snow on the ground and recalcitrant ice on the sidewalks and streets.
