I'm surprised at the lack of hurricane discussion on my friends list.
Now, I'll take a moment to explain why I dislike most people. Also, Pavel, get over yourself - MyWay is good shit.
In this article, a woman talks about how the water rising in her apartment building pushed all the doors open and they had to swim out. Note how she talks about the cars floating around them. Now, not only are you arrogant and stupid enough to stick around when a category 5 hurricane is coming your way (also note her disregarding the MANDATORY evacuation order), you're fucking pushing away floating cars? Floating cars?? Get on top of the damned things! It's not like you're going a different route; you basically have no choice but to swim with the current. Why risk an undertow?
I realize these people have been evacuated before when the threatening hurricane either shifted course or died down to a tropical depression before landfall, but seriously. The goddamned thing was right off the coast, didn't even die down the slightest bit until it was right next to shore (it's a cat-5...even if it weakens due to reaching land, you're gonna get fucked in the ass), and didn't show any signs of derailing from its projected path. You've got 18-24 hours to pack your shit and gtfo. It's hard to sympathize with these assholes, it really is.
Hence, it's probably a good thing I'm not on any of the rescue teams.
