Another amazing conference! So many informative sessions covering the business side of teaching, teaching (phrasing, shaping, performance anxiety), and music history. I try to go every 2 years (it's an annual conference) and the one 2 years from now is in New York City, a place I haven't been to yet so I will need to start saving up for that ( Read more... )

Yesterday was a rush! I managed to to do the dishes, do laundry and hang it on the clothes line to dry (with temps in 70s, must take advantage of that!), take out the trash, clean grandma's house, run a last minute errand to the store, and pack.  *takes deep breath ( Read more... )

The past 48  hours have been such a blur! I was up till 2am last night finishing a budget/income/expense spreadsheet thingy for a grant request proposal that our Youth Orchestra director emailed to me late Tuesday night.

What is it with expensive  hotels who think they can charge $10/day for internet and $6 for bottled water?! So I caved and bought the internet access. Sheesh.

In 2 days, I drive to Sacramento to fly to Denver to attend the MTNA Conference for music teachers. Hoping to learn lots of new things so I can be a better teacher to my students. And hopefully, don't go broke buying up lots of music ( Read more... )
