"You're back! Where've you been? We've missed you!"

It's great to be missed and have a hearty welcome back! :D I had *no idea* that was the reaction I'd get last night when returning to the University Chorus. I'd expected a few "welcome back!"s, but not the genuine surprise and joy at seeing me again. Wow! :D

I'd missed the first rehearsal due to stomach flu; the 2nd and 3rd rehearsals I was in London (technically, I was at home packing the night of the 2nd rehearsal); and then I missed it last week because I had a dress rehearsal with the OHS choir.

We are learning John Rutter's Magnificat. If there were a specific composer's music that I'd want to wrap myself up in like a blanket (if music were a tangible thing), it would be Rutter's. His harmonies and melodies are warm and beautiful. I'm sad because I'll be in Denver for the MTNA conference and miss the performance.
