So, while I am in England, my B-I-L Doug and I are going to visit Sutton Hoo. I'm investigating other things to do in that area while we are there. Any suggestions? ;-)

Jen, Jack, and Bryan should have landed in England by now -- they set off yesterday about noon PDT. They'll be there for about 2.5 weeks. This is their Christmas present from the whole family. Bryan is so excited, and that makes me really happy. I know that the family over there is excited to meet him, too! More news later, and with luck pictures

And thinking of fondant icing while talking to rowstr, I am reminded by recent experience that pre-made, commercially packaged marzipan and fondant icing has exactly the same reading on airport security x-rays as Semtex.
FedEx says that because of the various weather foo they can't get the person who's bag I got accidentally from the carousel out to her until Tuesday. Bleh. She's in Tahoe City; I'm driving up to meet her half way.
She's here to ski, you see, and all her stuff save her skis are in the back of my car.
We're still pretty off base, so here are just some highs & lows (not many lows!)....

Trip over was uneventful and very smooth. DIY check-in online with Virgin worked like a charm -- we got checked in and through luggage security in about 10 minutes
