The last of the trio of Kennedy brothers who so occupied my childhood and teen-aged years, and the one who continually surprised me at the stances he took for most of us, has finally, gracefully, passed on.

On Tuesday I read a message from my friend Michael (not my charming lurker Big Mike*, but another friend from 9th grade ) that his father, Peter, had died Monday. According to Michael, his dad had been having trouble breathing and heart issues for some time. He died just after his 84th birthday.

( I know I should be getting more prepared for these things, but... )

They will be spreading Cindy's ashes in a lovely garden at a Baptist Church near Coventry on June 28. I would love to be there -- I sent Jen and Jack (thank you, again, greatsword), and am mostly content that I spoke with her almost every day by cell-phone. I had this awful feeling of dread Friday and Saturday while flying home from Montreal. Frankly, for the first time I was sure the plane would blow up. I've for some reason not been inclined to go online in the evening and writing, but lots of interesting things have happened and I'll try to sort of catch up.

I've just watched the episode of Stargate SG-1 where they think Daniel is dead but he's only been captured but the fish-guy.

He was declared KIA, they held a funeral, etc.

What do you think has to happen to get him officially declared alive again?
