They will be spreading Cindy's ashes in a lovely garden at a Baptist Church near Coventry on June 28. I would love to be there -- I sent Jen and Jack (thank you, again,
greatsword), and am mostly content that I spoke with her almost every day by cell-phone. It would be night-time and the pain would keep her from sleeping, so she would go out where the hospital allowed cell coverage and I would call her.
This is a picture of her in 2004, at the wedding of her daughter, Cathy. This picture makes me hope that when Duncan is 35 or so, we'll have that same kind of love.
We had a wonderful Christmas with her and the English family, Duncan and I, in 2005.
(ETA: I want to say, because someone wanted to know why I'm feeling Maudlin, that she died on the anniversary of the day my friend Peter Suicided, and just before the 1 year anniversary of Leigh Ann's death. April and May are always going to be hard, I think.)
I just wish I could touch something of her.
