Still trying out titles for my new screenplay project. I realize it's a little tought to offer very much without the genre or premise, but for the moment I'm focused on the title. All feedback welcome.

Inevitably, on the heels of deciding to finish the incomplete feature version of Ghost Train next, I break the logjam on my other ghost story screenplay idea. Although I still have some issues to figure out with that one, and I'll be writing it from scratch as opposed to salvaging most of the current Ghost Train draft ... sigh.

Draft of Chasing Shadows complete. 102 pages. Technically, I still have to input a few Act III revisions from darkshiver and apply some polish before we send it off to the studio later this week. But it's pretty much all there ( Read more... )

• My entry in the first week of the CoWrite screenwriting contest didn't win, but I received an email this week saying it was one of the top-rated entries & encouraging me to submit again. Just took a nap. Very weird dream. Screenwriting is breaking my brain. My cat was in the dream, and some people from work, and my cat was at work & she was saying hello to my co-workers. • Nearing completion on the ghost-story screenplay. Finally. I'm very ready to be done with this project, it feels like I've been working on it forever. Well, since November, anyway. The draft is now with darkshiver, who is finishing up Act III. Then we'll have some polishing & tightening to do, and send it off to see what happens next.

• Finished the flashback sequence. Inordinately proud of it for the moment - it needs a lot of polish & cleanup, but I really like the structure, and I think there's at least one genuine 'oh shit' moment where you suddenly realize something horrible's about to happen. • I'm on vacation this week, so one of my goals is to finish a draft of my ghost-story feature screenplay. I had a great day Sunday, writing 15+ new pages, a mix of rewriting scenes from an earlier incomplete draft and adding new scenes.
