"Hey," he muttered absently, lifting his head a little when Brendan shifted underneath him, and he moved his hand to the man's knee in a hint for him to stay still. "I'm trying to get some sleep here."
The sound of his voice droned out by the loud cheer from the crowd at the match Brendan was currently watching and Patrick just sighed and waited for Brendan to settle down again. A hand found its way to his head and fingers closed around strands of hair, running through them slowly. Patrick gave another, more contented, sigh and let his head fall down on the man's lap again, his own hand squeezing Brendan's knee for a brief moment.
"We're winning," Brendan said quietly, yet the quietness of his voice didn't hide the excitement caused by the mere fact that for once, their team was actually ahead.
"The game's not over yet," Patrick whispered in response, not bothering to open his eyes to watch the game himself. They'd end up losing again anyway, and even though he didn't voice that thought, they both knew it.
