What goes down... must come up

No I am not ill... I am talking about my last long run.

Today I completed my last long run before the big race. I did 6 miles in all and I am pretty proud of the run. The route however was a doozy. OK well it was a doozy for me since I hate hills.

My local Macon runners will appreciate this.

I ran the Wesleyan area... you know the stretch on Tucker starting at Forsyth and running down until the sidewalk ends past Idleway. The run down is awesome. A great downhill run that isn't too steep so that your legs hurt but good enough that you can definitely tell your running effort is much easier. But like I said above, "What goes down, must come up".

You know that uphill sucks. It isn't a terribly steep climb overall. However the sight of it is so deceiving. The sidewalk is such that you can see that it is going uphill but you can't see where the uphill ends. It just keeps going and going and then when you think you see the top, you just realize it is a bend in the road and then you are greeted by a new sight of uphill sidewalk.

Like I said a good effort overall. One I am proud of.

One more week until the Mouse. We are leaving in just 4 days and I have a ton to do before then. I have lists to make and packing to complete. You can't leave anything behind!

Lucky for me I will be running the mouse with a great group of friends. We gathered together on Saturday night for some dinner at Outback and had a blast. Our goal was to talk game plan for the race weekend but we got distracted for the most part. That is what makes friends fun! With 3 of us running, 2 full time spectators and 1 half spectator/half super runner, we are bound to have a good weekend.

This weekend will be and easy one. Rest tomorrow, Run Tuesday, Walk Wednesday, Rest Thursday and Walk Friday/Saturday. It's all easy peasy now!
