Well it's that time of year, where we all sit down and make some goals. We write them on a piece of paper and then quickly hide that paper (or throw it away) by February 1st.
Yes I am talking about new years resolutions.
Lets revisit my 2008 goals
1) Run a 5K (As in run the whole distance)- Nope didnt meet this goal. The closest I came was the week of June 15th when I ran 2 miles in a single run (1/2 mile walk in between) and when I ran a 5K of 4/2 intervals. This goal WILL reappear in 2009.
2) Run 4 Half Marathons- COMPLETED!!!!!
Disney (January 12)- 3:23:36
Museum of Aviation (January 19)- 3:05:23 PR!!!!!!!!!!!
Country Music (April 26)- 3:10:53
Make it by Midnight (July 19)- 3:45:00
Bartram Forest (November 28)- 4:21:13 (16.25 miles)
3) Weight 157 pounds- I didn't meet this goal either. 157 is what I weighted at my wedding 2.5 years ago. However I have lost some weight and seeing as I didnt start my weight loss efforts until late October right before the holiday season... I consider my progress thus far a success.
Tomorrow, Kenny and I will sit down and make our yearly goals again. I am actually really excited to do this. I have some good things in mind for the year and a way to make them happen. I promise not to push aside my resolution paper on February 1st.
Now for the next month you get to hear me curse at all of the gym newbies who won't stick it out for the year. Shouldn't there be some sort of senority system when it comes to using the gym equipment? ;-)
Stay tuned for several excellent entries in the next two weeks. These will include:
- My 2009 goals
- A Review of my best race and training moments from 2008
- My taper madness and events leading up to my 26.2 mile run with the Mouse on January 11 (only 12 more days)
