So it has been a full month since my first Half Marathon. During recovery I have been really bad about updating this thing.
With less than 3 months until the Disney Half, I need to get back on track!
Recovery has been going well. I took 5 weeks recovery instead of the normal 3. Hoinestly, I really needed the extra weeks as a mental break from running. Next week I am hitting the pavement hardcore in hopes that I can beat my first Half Marathon time.
This past saturday was a 4 mile run and I decided to abandon my normal intervals and just have fun. I ended up running 5 minutes followed by walking 5 minutes. It was self imposed intervals but I had a great time. And it was also fun to know that if I just slowed down a bit I could run more than my standard 2 minute intervals.
I am hoping to attach the Disney Half with a 3 walk/2 run interval pattern instead of the 3 walk/1 run pattern that I had in Mufreesboro. Here is too a good couple months of training in January.
