Hi everyone,
I don't post too often, but I really appreciate reading this community. I've posted a few times about my lovebird Zazu who, over the course of the 6 years we've had him, has had cancer, kidney troubles, and chronic dermatitis. He's 13 and is beginning to show it - it seems he's developing atherosclerosis and cataracts.
As a result of these changes in his health, we need to think about buying him a new cage because
the one he lives in currently is quite tall and a fall would definitely injure him seriously. His previous cage is a breeder
like this one and I hate it because it's very difficult to clean. The bottom grate doesn't come out and though there's a removable tray below, the grate itself gets covered in poop.
I'm hoping someone can recommend a low cage like the breeder one linked above, but better designed, and ideally with a stand. I live in Vancouver BC and as far as I know, West Coast Tropical Bird Studio is the best local place to buy a cage. I'm not against buying something online from a reputable dealer.
I appreciate your suggestions. Here's a few recent pictures of Zazu in thanks for your feedback!
