Ionator

Has anyone heard much about the Ionator? My workplace has started using it instead of other spray cleaners, and it strikes me as possibly a good solution for cleaning in a bird household. According to their website, the spray bottle device takes normal tap water, ionizes it, the ions stick to dirt and germs, allowing them to come loose from the surface, and then you can wipe the dirt and germs off with paper towel.

It seems to me that one big plus is that you don't have all these toxic chemicals in the air. However the two big minuses are the cost ($169 for the cheapest spray bottle device), and the implication that it may produce ozone. The website doesn't say anything about ozone product, but you may recall that's one of the big problems with ionizing air purifiers, and ozone isn't good for humans with lung problems (such as asthma) so I presume it would be bad for birds too.

I'm guessing that if there is any ozone production, it's still not as harmful to birds as normal chemical cleaners, so this is likely an improvement over conventional household cleaners. I'm not sure if it's an improvement over plant-based household cleaners however. And I'm also not sure if it's worth the money.

Anyone else have thoughts on the Ionator?
