Summary: After Cid is done with his work in Icicle, he stops by at Seventh Heaven for a drink, and some catching up.
To say that Cid Highwind was relieved to be away from Icicle was an understatement. To be more accurate, he thought it was a blessing. With all the damage the Earthquake had done, the frigid temperatures and abundance of people who lacked any sense, it was a lovely fresh breath of air (if you ignored the cigarette smoke that accompanied it).
Now that things were on the right track, good old Cid was looking forward to a niiice break. Once he retrieved Shera, he intended to land and stay put for an extended period of time. The ship needed a number of repairs, and Cid wasn't about to take off again until they were done properly.
With this in mind, he decided to do this vacation thing properly (until Reeve called and successfully suckered him into another job, anyway) and headed over to the Seventh Heaven to do some catching up. Once the ship was set up safely outside the city and the crew was on the right track with repairs, Cid Highwind made his way into the town and over to the bar, opening the door without and ado and taking a seat.
"Hey, you fuckin' numbskulls! Any of you damn idiots hangin' around this fuckin' place? Been outta touch for fuckin' weeks and this is the damn welcome wagon?"
This uncouth announcement was as endearing and gracious as Cid ever got, as he meant it in the best way possible. Believe it or not.
