Today went surprisingly well. Woke up to my mom calling me on my cell phone [I keep it on audible at night, since it's also my alarm] to ask me to look up an address for her, and spent the first five minutes telling me how much she appreciated me and my financial independence [or attempts at it]. Got a scone and Duke of Earl [hot milk and Earl Grey tea] for breakfast, and did fairly well on my Japanese quiz; couldn't remember "Oh!" [おや!] or the polite way to say "very" [まことに], but still, good enough.
Went to table for B-GLAD's Drag Show auditions after class. Jay had hooked it up so that, besides the condoms [in rainbow colours!] and Mamba candies on the table, there was also an iPod loudly blaring dance music. That was pretty cool; kept me company. I got a bunch of dirty looks, and most people walked right past me. Kind of sad, really, but ah well. I was only supposed to [wo]man the table from noon until 1, but Emily was doing the 1-2 shift all by herself, in theory, so I stayed to help her, since I had nothing to do anyway. It was nice to just have someone to talk with normally for an hour. Have I mentioned how much I love non-judgmental, supportive people? I love those people.
Anyway, Emily got a lot more people to sign up for auditions, and Jay came by around 2 to help us pack up. Still can't talk to her very well, but I did attempt [and failed, miserably].
Chinese went well. Yang-laoshi hardly called on me, which was a shame, but I'll recover. I did try to be witty and sound intelligent in my answers, which prompted more questions, so that was pretty good.
Work was bothersome, in a way. Cathy was back, so I got to work with my "beloved" elementary schoolers again, and dear Raptorjesus, were they LOUD. I left early so I could make it to my B-GLAD meeting, but still, I was rather annoyed with several of them by the end of the day. Arguing with the teacher does NOT make your afternoon better, kids.
Speaking of the meeting, it was... kind of boring. I was more social this time, and I made a couple acquaintances, but that was about it. Lana got my e-mail address so that I could be added to the club mailing list, but I still think that she doesn't like me much. Huh.
Corrected the Trail's Combat Zone section after club, then got dinner [pasta and breadsticks are love] and went to work on homework, which took from 8 until after midnight. Have I mentioned how annoyed I am that we had to read the Book of Revelations for Rhetoric so that we could better understand Kandinsky's art?
I really am annoyed by that.
I did take an hour off around 10:30 to go to the Met with Piper, Keith, and Nick. Got some groceries for my room: milk, cheese, Wheat Thins, dried dates and papaya, Earl Grey tea, sugar, and I even got a carton of Oregon Chai [it was on sale, and that stuff is fucking DELICIOUS]! That made me pretty happy, and I do like having some tasty, easy snacks in my room that are vaguely healthy. Plus, fruit is tasty, and it goes well with my supply of green tea ginger ale.
Anyway, off to bed with me now. I'm feeling rather good about tomorrow.
