"Sora, I'm sure they know that," she soothed warmly, a smile on her face. "And even if they don't right now, once you tell them, they will." Biting her lip, she glanced away, then back to Sora with a shy and almost flustered little grin. "And...Sora, there's something that I...never really had time to tell you, before. I-it's not bad," she assured him, just in case he wanted to preemptively worry about it or anything. "Just...about fighting beside you--"

And then, someone else arrived, looking shy and generally concerned about breaking into their conversation. Well, even if it was an important conversation that Kairi really would rather not have had interrupted, she couldn't let the girl go feeling bad about it. That could ruin the whole expedition for her, and that just wouldn't do.

"Hi there!" Kairi bounced, her bright and friendly smile back on her face. "I'm Kairi; glad you could join our expedition." A quick glance at Sora told her that he hadn't met this new person yet, either. "This is Sora. Who do you know here on this trip?" It seemed a slightly odd way to ask the question, but it was sure better than 'Who invited you?' since it was less likely to be taken as sarcastic. Kairi didn't want that, not at all.
