Gaara blinked at Gai's sudden transformation before frowning. It wasn't that everything the man did wasn't incredibly odd an suspect, it was just that this current sort of odd and suspect was wholly not normal. For Gai. It was certainly more normal than normal Gai behavior, which was erratic instead of what looked a little like lethargic, but it was still incredibly jarring. Or... something.

Yes. Thinking wasn't easy with the sudden and complete invasion of his personal space. He hadn't met many people willing - or able - to get that close to him... so slowly, too.

"Umm," he agreed, unwittingly squeezing the tanuki just a little harder than it was comfortable with. It made an angry noise at him. "What are.. you..."

He noticed for the first time just how manly Gai was. He certainly had a manly ... face. And... shoulders. It was probably all that manly.. training. For manly men. And, well, it wasn't like the spandex was leaving a whole lot to the imagination, and now that for some reason he couldn't quite explain he was taking the time to not take the time to not look for fear of being spontaneously blinded, he could definitely tell.

... Manly.

Gaara was much worse at flowery inner monologuing.
