All of the shopping and hard work that Gai had put into this holiday season had only served to fill him with more exuberance than before. He loved the stress in the air, the pressure of getting the best gift you can find for your precious people, and the entire aura this season had given off. The snow was a beautiful touch, as he was only used to seeing it during missions in the Mist.

Sure, Konoha had its snow, but it was never this thick and fluffy and youthful and wonderful. He felt incredibly restless, and while he was used to being this excitable often, it did feel as if there was something missing in his life. He was fully aware that a lot of this anxiety could have been due to the separation from his two students, Neji and Tenten. And yet, something told him that that wasn't completely it.

He interrupted his own train of thought with a yell of frustration, pulling at his (shiny, wonderful, silky bowlcutty) hair, trying to recall the number to Gaara's room. How could have he forgotten such an important thing!?

--And then he saw it. Him. Them. What was Gaara holding? Gai squinted and took a few steps forward, clutching the bag that held Gaara's teddy bear and music box in it tightly, placing his hands behind his back and trying his best to hide it. Were those...giant testicles?

Oh, a tanuki!

Gai grinned as he stepped up his pace, walking toward Gaara and sparkling with Christmas joy.

"Kazekage-sama, there you are!! I've missed you...what are you wearing? I love it! It captures your essence of authority quite well."
