Guess I haven't really introduced myself properly yet... how should I say this...
I'm Ryotaro Dojima, a... detective with the Inaba PD. --Inaba, Japan.
From the sound of it some of you have been looking after my daughter, Nanako? [a bit of an awkward pause, but then his voice is filled to the brim with sincere warmth:] I can't really thank you

Nanako. [...he gives up trying to think of something better to say and laughs a little to himself] Good morning. [What time is it, really? Does his watch even work here?]

[OH GOD LAUNDRY IS WHAT LADIES DO BUT... crazy magic kidnapping castle mystery or not, he promised himself he'd spend more time with Nanako.]

It's not an easy transition, but I hope yours is smooth. I'm Alan Bradley - Nanako mentioned you to me. She missed you.

Sorry, I know this is supposed to be more of a "get to know the neighbors" broadcast, but... I just don't buy it. All this talk about magic castles...

I'm not fond of the 'magic' explanation myself, but... It's honestly hard to describe it otherwise - you can literally wish for something and it will appear, unless it's your loss. And unfortunately, you have to find out your loss yourself. It's different for everyone.
You said you were a detective? Some others and I have been trying to figure out how the castle works, not to mention why it does what it does. The next time we get together I'd be glad to invite you along.

I'd appreciate that. Not sure if there's much I can add, but... I figured if there were other people like me, there'd be something like that.

I am glad that little Nanako has her father here with her.

And thank you for looking after her. May I ask who this is?

I would not say I've really looked after her... My name is Tomoe.

Thank you. The idea's been nagging at me, but I'm not missing anything, as far as I can tell. Not sure if that's a good sign.
Nice to meet you, Tomoe. Even if you just kept her company for a few minutes, I should still thank you. I can't imagine how lonely and scared she must have been, if she's been here as long as she says she has.
