Item #136 on the list of unfortunate ways to start your day...
...you get up. You boil the kettle. You put your mug on the counter and make a morning cup of tea. So far, so good.
You grab hold of the handle and raise the mug to your lips to take the first sip.
The mug obeys. Except for its base. Which for some reason has decided to stay on the counter.
The tea....disperses evenly across all flat surfaces in the near vicinity.
There are two things I have realised from this. One is that, if your day is to begin with a small domestic disaster, it is something at least to have it be a small domestic disaster with some degree of hilarity.
The other is... do not trust pretty ceramic mugs bought on sale at Spotlight!
