Just spent all afternoon filling out auto loan papers. Didn't end well because apparently I need to make a deposit (that no one told me about before THANKS AGAIN KIA) that I can't afford. Might lose my car. It looks like it's true that the only way to get loan money is if you can prove you don't need it. =A ( Read more... )

What about purchasing a used car? You could probably pick something up quite reasonably priced that would still cost less than the deposit on a new vehicle.

I probably should've done that from the beginning, but every time I do that my mom and family friends and a little voice in my head keep saying "no no don't do that it will be ok and you can build awesome credit and that used car will cost twice the sticker price in repairs" etc etc. ;A;

I'd love a shiny new car if I could afford its monthly payments, though, and I'd be able to if I can just get over this initial hump of getting a loan for it so I can drive it into a job.

I'm an idiot hnnngh orz

I think an easier way to build up credit for yourself, right now, would be to continue paying the monthly payments on your student loans, and get yourself a credit card to use solely for the purpose of building credit. That's what I did (well, that and I'm now paying student loans, too, but that aside), and it worked well for me, but I guess it depends from person to person. My car is over ten years old, and while I have had to put work into it, it's not insurmountable. No matter how new the car is, you're still going to need repairs, and then pay the amount of money for regular maintenance, as well. Because you don't have that lump sum to put down on the car, it still might not be the best route for you at the moment since you don't have the income to pay those monthly payments, and you don't want to start destroying your credit before you can build it ( ... )

I'll get some kind of credit card as soon as I have a job and can buy things again. ♥ As soon as I have some kind of vehicle I might see if local retailers need extra help for the holidays.

I just heard from my bank that a loan for a used car would have a higher interest rate and that they might give me a bigger loan without a down payment if it was a nicer new car (I guess because it's a safer asset?). I think I'm gonna look for a happy medium and try to scoop up a cheap 2009 car while they're making room for 2010s so I can get the best of both worlds. \o/

I think that's a good idea. ♥ In my experience, retailers need all the help they can get, this time of year. If you can secure something this month, that would probably be ideal, since come January, the need for employees drops drastically. If you're lucky, too, you'll find something that will want to keep you post-holidays, as well. ;)

Huh, that I didn't know. D: What about something like a Toyota Yaris? Those cars are great on gas, and an entry level car is really reasonably priced, to the best of my knowledge. Actually, any small car like that would probably be ideal... I don't know if a Yaris is the cheapest, but there are plenty of options.

Puuuppiiiiiiiiies~ ♥

A temporary retail thing would be awesome~. I think I'm just having so much trouble because I keep betting all of my chips on connections. I keep having meetings with really awesome family friends who run awesome companies and "might need some help" and "will find something for me soon" and want to believe those offers will turn into something, because I'd probably make twice as much with them than I would at the Target down the street. But said Target wouldn't make me impatiently wiggle and wait, either.

That Toyota looks pretty nice~ but I have my eyes on a Honda Fit, if I can scoop up a good end-of-the-year deal. \o/ Either way, KIA can go cram it. Their employees keep quitting instead of doing their work and they keep telling me that if I sign papers everything will be unicorns and rainbows and sunshine, then tell me a week later about some hidden payment or thing they screwed up.

Sengokuuu~ ♥

Yeah, that makes sense to me. Well, take it into your own hands - go out, drop off some resumes, and see what you can turn up. Being a cashier at Target isn't going to bring in a lot of cash, no, but you can always move up the ranks, and with moving up comes wage differences.

Oh, okay. I don't know if I've ever seen the Honda Fit... then again, I'm surrounded by SUVs and Subarus, here, so that would probably explain it.

You just reminded me! They didn't get rid of Chaos/Loki servers completely, did they? D: I don't want to lose my priest and huntress with all of my gear on Loki...

The Honda Fit looks like a good cozy medium size vehicle with good mileage and a reasonable price. *A* I'll go deal hunting~

And Chaos and Loki are still around, but are depressing shells of what they once were. D: So few players and so many empty maps! New players and old players alike have all flocked to the free server, so I moved there too (and it's free~ *A*). I miss my Loki stuff, but it's easier to level and get goodies in RO than it was years ago when I played Loki a lot. I already have everything I had on Loki and more on Valkyrie in just a few months~

I didn't know you played RO, much less the same server I used to play on. XD;

Huh, that's depressing. D: When I went back to Loki... probably about a year ago, it did seem far more dead than it once did, which made me sad, but I hadn't realized it all went kinda kaput ( ... )

The pay server's populations have gone from the thousands to the hundreds and continue to sink. Dunno what can save the poor game. :\ Even though Valkyrie is free, the numbers are nowhere near the 10,000 or so that would be on the same server at the same time years ago. Tumbleweeds roll through the Prontera streets ._.

I've played on Loki from the year it went up til this fall, when I hopped over to the free server. I remember Dragon Slayers and think they may have been one of my guild's allies at one point. 8D I was in Lapis at first (our leader was the first level 99 character on the server ♥), then it died and I moved to Elf/Eternal, then that ALSO died and I moved to XGMR (which also fizzled out of existence; I meet former guildmates on Valkyrie all the time though~). We'd always hang out at the West Kafra. :D (or in Aldebaran when I was with XGMR~)

Ahh, memories~

My current guild is always at the East Kafra in Pront on the Valkyrie server, so come say hello if you ever decide you don't want to go outside ever again want to ( ... )

That's so sad. :/ That's what made me dislike private servers so much, back in the day; they were just never busy enough, and I was a social butterfly on RO ( ... )

To me, sitting and chatting with people in RO is the best part of the game, so I definitely don't want to be playing some empty server or a private server. ;o ( ... )

I'd be kinda curious to remake my priestess on Valkyrie just to see if anybody did, in fact, recognize me. Not that I should be contemplating RO, again. Really. But, it's good to know that there are some people who are still there. I had so many friends who used to spend every waking moment on RO, but many of them either moved on to WoW when it came out, or just dropped off the RO planet.

You know what, I've seen your priestess around - I recognize the name. I never really leveled more than my priestess, either, so I know how that goes. As much as I love my huntress, she was my first character, and as it is with first characters, her stats are... eh. Let's just say she doesn't have nearly enough dex or agi to make her worthwhile. XD;

Huh, that's interesting to know. I will have to check it out, even if I don't get back to playing regularly. I'm always for adventuring in new places. \o/

I see a lot of old Loki buddies who I thought had quit RO who have actually been on Valk this whole time. *A* It's interesting to find them and be randomly recognized in town~. It is sad how much of the RO population has drained off to other mmorpgs, though. ;o;

My Loki priestess is older than dirt and was the only character I used, so I even have strangers on Valk say "hi, you don't know me but I recognize your name from Loki" XD;

I can't wait for the update to come along so my high priestess can become a skanky bishop. \o/

I suppose everyone goes after the new, shiny toy, and all. D: I always preferred iRO to any other MMOs I tried, though - the others just kinda fell flat for me (probably because games like WoW are just too... I don't know, detailed for me?).

That's funny. XD; I used to get that a lot when I would wander around on my huntress. I would get people saying, "You don't know me, but I love your guild! Can I join?" Granted, I'm amazed we were able to get away with our guild icon (a hode with a small heart beside it, and we all know what hodes look like), so I don't blame people for being curious.

"Skanky bishop?" Now this I have to see.

I prefer iRO to other MMOs, too. The shiny new full 3D ones barely run on my poopoo low-end computer and even if they did, I prefer cute little 2D sprites any day. 3D MMOs give me a headache. D:

I think I remember that hode emblem, actually XD It definitely stood out.
My current guild is a special, special bunch of people so we change our emblem a lot. I think this week it's a baby bowser emblem. :D;

behold! D: the arc bishop and her tiny front flap and fishnet stockings~
