So yesterday I fucked up. Usually when Seattle School Districts close the church closes as well and in effect so does the day care. So yesterday I saw that Seattle SD was closed (though I didn't understand why, the roads were fine and it warmed up) but I went back to bed. However, I guess by the time the district called it John had already made it to the church and opened up the building so we were still open, and I was in bed. Marna called me at 9:30 with the "where the hell are you?" question. I was at work in a half hour, feeling like a right idiot. I didn't even get to sleep well with my extra hour becasue I had a nightmare that I was wrong about the snow call. Damn. Both John and Marna gave me some shit. We got out early at 2, though. So I had a short day 10-2. Sweet.
This morning I woke up at five something when i heard that LOOOOONG and LOUD thunderclap. As I was still kinda asleep and I didn't see the lightning, I actually thought for a minute it was a terroirst attack or something, like I was going to wake up and the Space needle was going to be gone. Then with the second thunderclap I got out of bed and into the livingroom to look outside. Raye popped out of her room too. "Have you ever heard of thunder during a snow storm?" we asked and peeked outside. Soon after I got a call from Marna that we are indeed observing the snow day. Woo-hoo! Snow day! It took me a while to fall back asleep, my mind filled with so many things I could do to make the best of my free day. Now I'm at the coffee shop, I gotta hit up the bank and the post office and I have a noon appointment with Cathy to have a snow ball fight in the park. Yeay! Snow day! Hot chocolate afterward, I should think. I wish I had a fireplace but whatever. Look how lovely my view is from the my deck. YEAY!
