Yesterday was a damn good snow day. I stole some pics from Cathy's blog.
Looking down Madison on 16th (by my apt)
The street bacame a bus graveyard for #12 busses, Pine also turned into a gravyard for #10 & #11's. (also look at the grey condo monstrocity...that used to be a view of the goddamned space needle! Boo!)
Anyway, I was out running errands and Ryan invited me to go sleadding. We met up and met up with Justin, Meeka and Cathy at Online Coffee on Olive then walked North to find a good hilly street to slide down.
Some impromptu dumpster diving. We were using whatever we could find for a slead, on the way we found this metal self thing in the garbage. Ryan pulled off bits and we had ourselfs a metal slead. We also picked up a group of random hipsters to be our sleadding buddies. I fuckin' love livin' on the hill. Snowdays people get all friendly and inviting. :)
We used Ryans laundry basket at first. Eventually some pleople showed up who brought propper sleads and shared. One guy brought a slead he made which was two skis with a bit of wood nailed on, big enough for two people. That slead was the shit! We FLEW down Republican street all the way down to Bellevue. It was So much fun. For future reference, don't go sleadding in bellbottom pants unless you want to collect snow up your legs.
Mir in the corner, gettin' ready to do some ghetto sleadding in a laundry basket. :)
We also got a snowball fight in. Afterwards I went home turned on the heat and got my x-mas cards done. Raye came home and we had a night of it with wine and whiskey. Not feeling so hot today. I didn't want to have to work today. John is so off of my Christmeass list for getting to work and opening up the building. Oh well today I get my holiday bonus and some x-mas cheese from my boss. I love my annual x-mas cheese. :)
