Climbing and cruising

Nov 21, 2010 22:43

All Jimmy wants to do lately is climb up and down things and cruise on his dinosaur. Oh, and bite things. But at least he's not biting while nursing! He can climb up the stairs now, we're still working on going down safely. And he can climb out of the bed or couch safely now. Also, he thinks it's hilarious to watch Tom and I rake the yard. Almost as much as he likes watching Tom mow the lawn. I have some videos I'll post sometime when it's not already bedtime!

We're doing good... having some friends over tomorrow for a "music hour" playdate. Ate out twice this weekend and Jimmy is a champion eater. Except miso soup. Didn't like that today. Liked everything else, though. We had hibachi chicken and shrimp at the Japanese place tonight, and yesterday for lunch we went to the British Beer Company, which was great. I got him the kid's shepherd's pie, figure he ought to at least try beef, and he loved it. Good thing, because he'll be eating the leftovers! Too bad ground turkey doesn't taste as good, because I'd love to make it at home.

We finished the raised beds for the garden this weekend. I'll have to take a picture with them all dug in and filled up. The last little bit of compost we used to "topdress" the lawn, although I think Tom and I are going to have to work on our definition of a quarter inch!!! It'll be fine after a rain, though. Next spring I'll aerate and overseed with a low maintenance grass, and we'll have a decent lawn. I can't wait to go seed shopping in January - I'll finally have enough space to plant most of what I want!!!

Jimmy's favorite person lately is "Dada". First thing he says in the morning, besides sometimes "ba" to go potty, is DADA! He laughs when he sees him. It's so cute! I think Tom wishes Jimmy wouldn't wake him up, but then he sees Jimmy saying Dada and it's hard to resist.

The potty training is going great - we think he's starting to use "ba" for bathroom, and sometimes he pats his bum for poopy. Just got to get him to do it consistently and we'll be done! Not that I expect that to happen before about 14 months, but I can hope...

He's cutting another tooth, the other bottom front one. So it's poor sleep for us. Hopefully the tooth will come through soon!
