this has been one of the best weekends... EVER. i've just been surrounding myself with intelligent people that love me a lot... i didn't do the traditional friendly's after the concert because i was off at starbucks with lisa, ian, gilby and nate (charles hicks's older brother). a bunch of other people were there, and i didn't know them so it was awkward, but pablo and juan sang two songs for us (so good!) and afterward we went to nate's to play apples to apples, which was great fun.
saturday i cleaned my room. YES. i can see the floor and my clothes are all organized... ahhhh it's amazing.
then gilby and nate and i went to the book sale in heritage village, picked up ian for dinner, met megan, dan & lisa at starbucks, then watched the hobbit at ian's house. (my first time hanging out with a group of boys without another girl. it became less weird as it went on. all i can say is, i'm glad i'm a girl; it's safer that way.)
and today megan and i met nate at the book sale (again; i went all three days), then went to her house to lunch and made cupcakes. and i went home and lisa came over for dinner and we tried on dresses and she borrowed a bunch of mine.

it feels so good to be around such amazing people. i used to think, "blah, when i'm social i can't write and do intelligent things. i can do one or the other." but when i hang out with that group, it's totally fine (and expected) to randomly pull out a notebook and scribble something down... or talk about books and writing a lot a lot... i suppose i can do that with my other friends, but it definitely does not happen as much. i mean... when i say, "i love that tree!" to chickey, for instance, she giggles and says i'm weird and cute. any one of the people i hung out with this weekend would ask me why and i'd elaborate, or they'd say, "me too," and not think it out of the ordinary at all.
it's just... nice. different. i like it.
