Just a Little Kiss
Tommy picked Thea up from the floor. She was drunk, again. It seemed to be a regular occurrence lately and Tommy was starting to get tired of it. How did he always find himself here? Ever since he and Laurel had ended, somehow it was always him coming to her rescue. Not that he would have wanted anyone else do the job, it was just frustrating to find Thea in the same situation over and over.

He wrapped her arm around his neck as he steadied her up, her head falling all over the place, she giggled softly in his ear. He couldn’t help but let out a small smile, despite everything.

“Come on, lets get you home.”

“No!” Thea demanded, shaking her head for exaggerated effect, Tommy stilled and looked at her. This was new, she never usually put up a fight. Just waited for him to get there and then let him take her home. But this time appeared to be different. He let go of her arm and stood in front of her, placing both hands on her waist to steady her, just in case.

“Well, where are we going to go?” He asked, playing along with her, knowing full well they would end up going back to her house anyway. The last time he had spent the night, no planning to. He had just wanted to watch over her for a few minutes and then she had hold of his hand and rolled over, he really didn’t have much other choice then spoon her for the rest of the night. It had been his best night sleep in quite some time. She grinned playfully, her eyes not quite focused.

“We’re gonna go to yours!” She replied, happily. Playfully poking him in the chest. He wasn’t surprised, somehow in the back of his mind, he was expecting this. He sighed, he could put up a fight but for some reason, he could never say no to her. Unfortunately for him, she seemed to know it too.

Back at his place, Thea flopped herself down on his sofa, whilst he headed into the kitchen to grab a couple of glasses of water to sober her up and something to eat. Thea could hear the slamming of his cupboards. Why did he never have anything to eat!?

He made his way into the living room and handed the young girl a bowl, Thea let out a snort, Tommy knew that with or without the drunken state, that would have been her first reaction either way.

“Cereal? You’re giving me cereal? Where’s the pizza?!” She giggled and Tommy side-glanced her.

“Its all I have, okay? I still haven’t got this shopping for food thing down.” Thea laughed some more, playfully kicking him, so he knew she was just teasing.

“Yeah, its funny about that food shopping thing, you have to do it more than once!” Tommy laughed.

“Shut up, smartass and eat you’re cereal.” For the first time in a long time, Thea did as she was told but it wasn’t going to last long. She always knew how to get under his skin.

An hour later, when Tommy was insisting that Thea should go to bed and get some sleep, she was putting up one hell of a fight about it. Whining about feeling sick and whatever else she could say, in order for her to prevent going to sleep. She didn’t want to sleep because the sooner she fell asleep, meant the sooner morning would come and then the sooner she would have to leave. She just wanted to stay in his company, always.

“Why won’t you just go to sleep, Thea?” Tommy groaned and Thea flinched.

“Why are you always so desperate to get rid of me? If you hate me that much, don’t answer my damn calls!” She yelled as she got up and stormed into the nearest bedroom. Tommy sighed regretfully, that wasn’t how he had intended it to be taken, he loved spending time with Thea just not when she was drunk and there was a danger of her being sick. She was a lot younger than him, she didn’t know to handle herself as well as he did. He made his way to his bedroom where Thea had entered, not bothering to knock on the door, he found Thea pulling back the covers. She groaned.

“I’m getting into bed, okay? I’ll be gone as soon as its light.”

“I don’t want you to be gone, Thea. I didn’t mean to upset you, I just think that the sooner you sleep this off, the less likely you’ll wake with a hangover.” He sat down on the bed, opposite Thea. She was surprised, he could tell. She really thought he didn’t want her here. How ridiculous, Tommy thought.

“I’m just watching out for you, like I always do. I care about you, okay?” Tommy asked as he reached for a strand of hair to tuck behind her ear. “But if you really don’t want to go to sleep-“

“No, I’ll go to sleep.” Thea interrupted. “But you have to do one thing first.” Tommy looked at her quizzically. Where was this going?

“What? What do I have to do?” He played along, hoping it wasn’t something too serious. Thea grinned, mischievously.

“Kiss me.” She stated simply, as if it was no big deal. He had not been expecting that. He thought her feelings were gone for him now since that night when she had drunkenly tried to kiss him. Thea saw him hesitate and blushed a little.

“Just a little kiss, Tommy. No bigs. A goodnight kiss.” Tommy couldn’t deny that a part of him really wanted to kiss her, touch her soft lips whilst the other part was screaming at him that she was his best friends little sister and a hell of a lot younger than him. But he pushed it aside and leaned forward into her.

“Just a little kiss.” Tommy repeated, though a part of him knew, it wasn’t going to be just a little kiss.
