Yesterday was the Natal Day Parade, and for those of you that don't know, I am a clown in the parade every year. We've had a combined parade from Halifax to Dartmouth for the second year in a row. The weather was great, not too hot, not too cold. There was a great crowd, too. We had Dora and Spongebob travelling with out float, too, which took away from our energy a little bit. No one was paying attention to the clowns, and what's the point of being a clown when no one's paying attention to you? Well, I still did, and I made sure that people noticed me, and it was fun. Aside from when I got lost near the guy with the funny big front wheel bicycle. He got very mad at me because I couldn't get myself caught back up to my own float. But that's beside the point, I still had a good time. I saw my family there for the first time, so I ran over to them, and Xavier wouldn't even shake my hand! He knew it was me, everyone was like, "That's your Auntie B," to which he replied, "I know." But everytime I put out my hand for a high 5 or a shake he hid behind my sister and her husband.
After the parade, AP Reid, the people we were being clowns for, held a street party at Banook Lake, an we had volunteered to help out. So, the float drove us to the street party. And then we were all like, well, we need to get back to the office, where we prepared for the parade, to take off our make-up and try to make ourselves look normal. And the people that were there for the parade started freaking out. Then, we were discussing how I was going to get my things from the office, I was called away from the two of them by one of the other clowns, and they just took off and left us there. I figured they must have decided they'd go get my stuff while they were off doing what they needed to do. But instead, they just stranded us in a corner with no idea what we were supposed to do. An hour and a half later we were all getting VERY hungry and ticked off. I decide that we're going to put all the clown costumes in the float and then as a group, which has now been chopped in half, we'll go find someone who can take us back there. Finally, we're found, before we get out of the corner. Then everyone tries to get us back to the office. From the office one of the 3 of us that was left leaves, and the 2 of us who are left now decide to go to Subway for lunch, then to Smitty's to see if Laura's still there. Now, we're 3 again.
We walk back up to the street party and decide that they don't need us. We have no desire to help out anymore with them anyway, because we're still a little peaved about them just dumping us there. So instead, we go on our own little adventures. This was so much fun! We went to Dairy Queen in Cole Harbour and then decided we wanted to go for a walk. So we walked around Colby a little, walked through all the little paths we could find and took some pictures. Then we drove down to Stoney Beach in Lawrencetown. Took some more pictures there. Then I brought them out here because one of them had never been to my house before, so I showed them the "rich house" on my street, my house, and then took them up to my elementary school. We played on the playground a little bit and took some pictures there. Then we drove back to Dartmouth, drove around and looked at some houses there. Then off to Bedford, where one of the girls showed us the "bad area" of Bedford...ha ha ha! The houses there were still twice the size of my house! Then we dropped her off, and as we were leaving we actually DID find the area of Bedford where they have normal people sized houses.
And that was the end of our adventures. When I got home, my mother had picked up the mail, and my results from my step exam were there! I passed, definitely not my best associates, I got an 85 on one part and an 88 on the other part. Which really doesn't sound that bad, but on the other 2 I took both my marks were in the 90s.
So, today, I woke up a little before 11, only because the phone rang. When I tried to get out of bed, I hurt everywhere! It really sucks, I haven't hurt like this since Wendy's jazz classes, in 2003...
