I had my first day of class today. I went to campus early so that I could buy a parking permit, only to find that the UTAPS (University Transportation and Parking Services) office has moved from its old location to a building 1/4 mile off campus. I had to find that and then wait in a long line to buy my parking permit. Thankfully the line moved ( Read more... )

I'm officially done with the spring semester. Yay!

I just learned that Joanna Newsom is opening for Bjork for two shows on the upcoming tour, and one happens to be the one that we are attending. I'm fucking thrilled. It's going to be an awesome show.

So I somehow missed hearing that Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton will be playing two shows at Cafe du Nord in SF this Friday. The first show is sold out, but there's a midnight show that still has tickets (only $12!). Had I know about the show, I wouldn't have taken last Sunday off but would have taken Friday off instead. I got an email yesterday that The Mars Volta would be playing in Petaluma on August 9th at the Phoenix, and that tickets would be going on sale today. Since they've gotten bigger, I'd kinda given up on seeing them, because lately all they've been playing have been arena shows (opening for bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down ( Read more... )
